Information You Submit
Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own system. The provider’s policy governs its processing.
Messages
An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer it. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Automatic Technical Data
Standard logs and analytics may receive technical details when a page loads, including:
- the IP address used for the request;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, when supplied; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies help measure use and remember basic site behavior. Browser controls can reject or remove them, although blocking cookies may cause some features or partner tools to behave differently.
Purposes for Processing
- Operate the pages reliably and efficiently.
- Send a search request to the selected partner service.
- Understand which guides visitors find useful.
- Diagnose errors, abuse, and performance problems.
- Display advertising that may reflect inferred interests.
Outside Sites and Advertising
Links lead to Canyon County release records, Sheriff and IDOC pages, court portals, federal systems, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s own privacy notice controls its collection and use.
Advertising providers may use their systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted advertising. That tracking occurs under the provider’s technology and policy, not as a Canyon government function.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold as a standalone product. It may be available to:
- search partners processing submitted queries;
- analytics providers measuring traffic;
- advertising networks delivering or evaluating ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect site data. No internet-connected service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed breach-proof, and this notice makes no promise of absolute security.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may request its deletion through Contact Us.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, request correction of inaccurate data, seek deletion, or opt out of certain processing. Browser privacy controls can also limit cookies. These choices do not remove government records from Canyon County, IDOC, a court, or another external custodian.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted here with its updated effective date.
Effective: July 16, 2026.
